Reza Kavosh: A Journey of Leadership, Purpose, and Global Impact

For Iranian social impact leader Reza Kavosh, this realization became the foundation of a lifelong journey dedicated to peacebuilding, youth empowerment, and refugee support. His story demonstrates how personal growth can evolve into meaningful social change.

Discovering a Different Kind of Leadership

While pursuing a Master's degree in Peace, Conflict, and Development Studies in Spain, Reza came across the International Leadership Programme (ILP) organized by WYSE International. Drawn by his passion for leadership and social development, he joined the program in Italy in 2010.

What he found was far more than a traditional leadership course. Rather than focusing solely on skills and techniques, the program encouraged participants to explore their values, strengths, and purpose. It provided a deeper understanding of how individuals relate to themselves, others, society, and the wider world.



Turning Insight into Action

Armed with a renewed perspective, Reza returned to Iran with a stronger vision for creating positive change. He began working with the Islamic World Peace Forum, where he led youth-focused initiatives aimed at addressing social challenges and promoting dialogue among young people.

Inspired by the values of service and volunteerism, he also dedicated significant time to community engagement and international cooperation. Over the years, he participated in numerous global conferences and workshops, sharing insights on youth leadership, conflict resolution, and the role of religious diplomacy in fostering peace.

Supporting Refugees and Vulnerable Communities

One of the most impactful chapters of Reza's career began in 2013 when he joined the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Iran. Working as a Field Assistant, he focused on improving livelihood opportunities for Afghan and Iraqi refugees across several provinces.

His work centered on helping displaced individuals build sustainable futures through economic opportunities and community support. By empowering vulnerable populations, Reza demonstrated that leadership is not only about influence-it is about creating pathways for others to thrive.
